From Aamir to Amitabh, B-town hails achievement of Olympics medallist Sakshi

New Delhi, Aug. 18 : The recent ones to wish freestyle wrestler Sakshi Malik for her glorifying bronze at Rio Olympics are Megastar Amir Khan and Randeep Hooda .

The 51-year-old 'Lagaan' star tweeted, "Congratulations Sakshi Malik! 1st Indian female wrestler to win an Olympic medal.

Well done. You have done India proud!" Commending her achievement actor Randeep Hooda wrote, "Very proud of #SakshiMalik for ending our medal drought this #Olympics2016 #JatPride #ProudIndian #Rohtak ." Next in the queue to congratulate the 23-year-old Rohtak girl, who became the first Indian woman to earn a medal in wrestling were B-Town's celebrated star Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan.

Akshay in his tweet not only praised Sakshi but also expressed gratitude, "Here comes the first!Thank you (and) congratulations #SakshiMalik!You're the reason for a billion smiles today?? #Rio2016." Amitabh hailed her achievement, saying "T 2351 - #Rio2016 and the women of India doing us so proud .especially in the wresting ..Sakshi you made us proud Indians !! COME ONNN !!." Malik, on Wednesday, brought an end to India's long wait for a medal at the ongoing Rio Olympics, clinching bronze in the Women's Freestyle 58kg category with a spirited comeback victory over Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan.

Although the 23-year-old was trailing 0-5 against her Kyrgyzstani opponent after the first period, she bounced back in style to hand India its fourth bronze medal in wrestling in the Olympic history.
