Glamorgan teen Donald equals Shastri’s record of fastest double ton

Johannesburg, July 18 : Glamorgan teenager Aneurin Donald has equaled former India batsman Ravi Shastri's record of fastest double century during his side's first-class cricket match against Derbyshire on Sunday. The 19-year-old smashed 15 sixes in his 123-ball knock to reach the milestone set by Shastri in India in 1985. Reflecting on his performance, Donald said he felt delighted to put his side in a strong position with his `big` knock, Sport24 reported. Donald revealed he had no clue about the records, but admitted that it was really special to equal former Glamorgan player Shastri's record. The former Under-19 skipper, who came to the crease when his side was at 96-3, took just 43 balls to move from 100 to 200 runs as Glamorgan ended the first day on 491-8.
