Jaitley has conspired with a “sense of revenge”: Capt. Amarinder Singh

New Delhi [India], Dec. 3 : Lashing out at Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the Income Tax department's prosecution complaint in a foreign assets tax evasion case, Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday said the former has conspired against him with a sense of revenge.

"I will call Jaitley in the court. He has conspired and there is a sense of revenge. I will see to it that he is summoned by the court," Singh told the media. The Income Tax Department has filed a chargesheet against the former Punjab chief minister. This pertains to a probe against him and his son Raninder Singh in a case of alleged untaxed foreign assets.

The case came out when the IT Department received information about Raninder allegedly holding offshore account in Switzerland as part of details received by the Central Board of Direct Taxes from its French counterpart earlier in 2011.

The IT Department had also detected the movement of funds to Switzerland and creation of a trust and a few subsidiaries in the tax haven of British Virgin Islands, allegedly by Raninder.

Both the Punjab Congress chief as well as his son have denied any wrongdoing while dubbing the charges as politically motivated.

Earlier this year, Raninder was also quizzed by the Enforcement Directorate officials..
