JD (U) advices PM Modi to take action on Kashmir unrest

New Delhi, Aug.23 : The Janata Dal (United) on Tuesday urged the NDA government at the Centre to stop expressing concern over the unrest in Kashmir and take action to end it.

JD (U) leader Ajay Alok said it is the duty and responsibility of the ruling BJP and its allies to come up with a solution to any problem that the country faces.

"I have also heard the prime minister's five-point agenda in connection to Kashmir, but for the past 45 days, we are listening to all this only.

From the opposition parties, to the people of Kashmir, to the whole nation, we all are tense as to who will give a solution to the problems in Kashmir.

In the end, it is the prerogative of the prime minister to come out with a solution," said Alok. "Mere showing of concern is of no use, he (the prime minister) will have to take action," he added. The Kashmir Valley has been on the boil since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani on July 8.
