Juhi Singh extends best wishes to ‘strong’ RLD after SP rules out alliance with it

New Delhi [India], Jan. 20 : A day after Samajwadi Party ruled out alliance with Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), party leader Juhi Singh extended her good wishes to the RLD, asserting that Congress and RLD can tell as why the latter didn't enter into grand alliance.

"Congress and RLD can tell as why the latter didn't enter into grand alliance because we always intended to contest the elections along with the parties which pitch for development of the Uttar Pradesh," Juhi Singh told ANI.

Singh further said that RLD is a strong party and extended her best wishes to it. The Samajwadi Party yesterday ruled out tie-up with the RLD, putting an end to the speculation of grand alliance in the Uttar Pradesh.

"Yes we are entering into an alliance with Congress, seats will be announced soon. There were no talks with RLD," SP national vice president Kiranmoy Nanda told ANI. The decision regarding the alliance was taken in a six-hour meeting held by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav with senior SP leaders on Thursday.

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on January 17 announced an alliance with the Samajwadi Party for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls under the leadership of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav also confirmed that the party will lock itself in a pre-poll alliance with the Congress.

Chaudhary Ajit Singh, who is carrying on the political legacy of his father and former Prime Minister of India, Charan Singh is founder and the president of RLD.
