Kanye West’s’Famous’ sculpture not tagged price yet

Washington D.C.[USA], Sept. 2 : Looks like Kanye West's 'Famous' sculpture is again in news. Though initially reports were doing the rounds that the gallery was looking for a four million dollar price tag for the sculpture, a later statement from Blum (of Blum and Poe) cleared the air, saying the piece was never for sale, reports E! Online.

Los Angeles Blum and Poe gallery displayed life-size silicon recreation of 12 of the biggest names in pop culture all sleeping together, totally naked, in one bed, inspired by the rapper's 'Famous' music video.

These sculptures include Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift , Donald Trump, Ray J, Rihanna, Chris Brown and more.

The 39-year-old singer's representative too released a statement, saying, ""We are incredibly flattered that a number is being reported but at no point have we ever disclosed a sale price for the piece.

The writer whose story was published in the NY Timesunfortunately based his reporting on hearsay, conjecture, uninvolved third parties and the lack of fact checking.

Once again we are flattered by such interest, but as far as Mr. West is concerned-it's all about the art. We are looking forward to announcing when Famous will be available again for viewing." The 12 individuals are not only look lifelike, but also move.

Batteries power the figures to breathe, causing their chests to rise and fall as though they're truly in deep sleep.

Reasoning West's urge to get sculpture out of his 'Famous' video, Aaron Axelrod, a Los Angeles artist said, "This was made for the music video.

No one would have been able to tell [how] those sculptures were moving, which means he's going above and beyond.

This caught me off guard. It's one of the coolest pieces I've ever seen.".
