Kulbhushan Jadhav issue: JD (U) asks Centre to isolate Pak diplomatically

New Delhi [India], Apr 15 : The Janata Dal (United) on Saturday said that the entire opposition is backing Centre on the issue of Kulbhushan Jadhav, while adding that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government should try to isolate Pakistan diplomatically.

JD(U) leader K.C. Tyagi said that India should pressurise Pakistan through international channels to bring back Jadhav. "The entire opposition is with the government in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case. The endeavours of the foreign ministry are laudable but it India should try to isolate Pakistan diplomatically by creating pressure over it internationally," said Tyagi.

Condemning the Pakistan military court's move of giving death sentence to Jadhav, the government yesterday said Islamabad's belligerent behaviour is not acceptable, adding it will make best efforts to solve the matter.

A military court in Pakistan earlier this week found Jadhav guilty on two counts of espionage and sentenced him to death.

Jadhav was arrested in March last year, "for his involvement in espionage and sabotage activities against Pakistan," according to a statement released by the Pakistan armed forces.
