Like Mussolini, Modi is an excellent orator but unsuccessful in working: Congress

New Delhi [India], Dec. 17 : Continuing its tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetisation and in the wake of the twin scam attack by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress on Saturday launched yet another attack on him by drawing comparisons with Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, saying that the former only survived on his oratory skills, but simply failed to produce any tangible results.

The BJP government in Haryana has handed over the enquiry into the alleged re-allotment of a plot to AJL in Panchkula in 2005 to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

"The people are now coming to know that this man (Modi) is like Mussolini, who is an excellent orator, but unsuccessful in working.

So, in order to deviate from this, he brought in the move to demonetise," Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar told ANI.

Commenting on the recent controversy surrounding Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's statement of exposing the Prime Minister's corruption activities, Aiyar said this was the result of the government not letting Gandhi speak in parliament, as he would have exposed the Prime Minister.

"I had prior information that they (the government) know that Rahul ji has some documents, some evidences, which are going to prove that Modi ji himself is indulged in corruption.

This is why he did not want a discussion about it to be held in parliament. Had it been raised in parliament, the Prime Minister would have been forced to answer and would have been caught," said Aiyar.

Branding the Prime Minister Modi as a fascist, the Congress leader further said that the former only claims to be a democrat but was the exact opposite.

"It is only our constitution which has held our democratic values together and restricted the Prime Minister, otherwise this man would have done the same what Pakistan Ministers did in 1950s," he added.

Echoing similar sentiments, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad also trained his guns at the Prime Minister saying that the BJP, in order to save itself from any attack, diverts people's attention by saying anything, adding that the ruling party is now talking about the Associated Journals Limited (AJL) case, because it wants to divert attention from the issue of demonetisation.

"In the past we have seen, whenever there is attack on the BJP, they say anything to divert the attention of people.

They have been enquiring the case (AJL) since so many years, but have been able to found nothing," said Azad.
