Melania Trump pleads for husband after vulgar conversation leak

Washington D.C. [USA], Oct. 9 : Melania Trump recently spoke out asking for the public to accept her husband Donald Trump's apology after the audio of a lewd conversation between the presidential candidate and Billy Bush was made public.

In a statement posted online, the 46-year-old former model cited that the words her husband used "are unacceptable and offensive" and went on to request the people to "accept his apology, as I have," reports E! Online.

"This does not represent the man that I know," she wrote in the statement, "He has the heart and mind of a leader." "I hope people will accept his apology, as I have, and focus on the important issues facing our nation and the world," she added.

This statement comes after Bush apologized for his behavior in the conversation saying, "Obviously I'm embarrassed and ashamed.

It's no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago-I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along.

I'm very sorry." The Washington Post had earlier obtained footage from 2005 that includes audio of the duo using extremely vulgar language while discussing women.

Trump later released a statement and posted a video message on his social media. "This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course, not even close," he shared and apologized if anyone was offended.
