MHA directs security audit of airports across country

New Delhi, Aug. 16 : The Union Home Ministry Affairs (MHA) has directed to audit security arrangement at all airports across the country.

The MHA has also decided to bring Srinagar and Imphal airports, where Central Reserve Police Force personnel are providing security, under the Central Industrial Security Force (C.I.S.F) ambit.

The audit will especially look into how well airports are equipped to deal with a situation like the Brussels Airport.

The MHA has, however, sat on a proposal by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to constitute a separate 'Aviation Security Force' and has been continuing with C.I.S.F.

According to sources, it has been felt at the higher level that there is a need to beefed up security arrangements at all the airports.
