New Delhi, Aug.7 : Model and actress Payal Rohatgi feels that the entire dope controversy around Narsingh Yadav has actually turned down the spirits of Rio Olympics 2016 for her.
Talking to the media during ace designer Archana Kochhar's Silver Nite Fashion Show, the live-in girlfriend of wrestler-turned actor Sangram Singh said, "Both me and Sangram are very excited about the Olympics.
But yes prior to Olympics, the whole Narsingh Yadav dope controversy that happened, has kind of dampened the Olympic spirits because Narsingh is a very good friend of Sangram, so it was a very dark incident that happened, taking into mind because Sangram is from wrestling." Just two weeks before the opening ceremony of the Rio Olympics, Narsingh failed a dope test which he claimed to be conspiracy against him.
However, he has been given a clean chit by the National Anti Doping Agency which pointed out that Narsingh was a victim of sabotage perpetrated by a fellow competitor.
United World Wrestling has also given a clean chit to the grappler. Now, Narsingh is waiting for a go ahead from the International Olympic Committee and World Anti-Doping Agency to participate in the summer games.
