Norflok white wine chosen one of the ‘best in the world’

London [UK], May 22 : A bottle of Norflok White wine costing 13 GBP has been named one of the best in the world.

The still Winbirri Vineyards Bacchus white wine won the platinum best in show medal for best value white wine made from a single grape variety at the Decanter World Wine Awards, reports The Independent.

The wine magazine shared that he Bacchus grape is relatively unused in most wine production and said the victory was especially inspiring considering English still wine "had spent several years in the shadow of the country's emerging sparkling wines".

All the judges recounted the wine as "perfect aperitif wine" and described its flavour as a "complex, oily nose with spice, elderflower and citrus." Lee Dyer, the head wine-maker at the vineyard, while talking to Eastern Daily Press shared that this award "makes all the hard work worthwhile and it will help put England and Norfolk on the map as a region capable of making world-class wines.".
