Not going to justify myself: Eva Amurri Martino’s befitting reply to critics

London [UK], Jan.3 : Eva Amurri Martino, who recently revealed one of the darkest moments of her life, says she is not going to justify herself to those who 'expressed judgement, cruelty, and criticism of me, my choices, or my fragility during this time.' In a blog post shared on her website HappilyEvaAfter.com, the actress had opened up about a tragic incident where her night nurse she employed to care for her infant son fell asleep and dropped the baby, cracking his skull.

Later, in an Instagram post, the American film and television actress confronted her critics and said: 'I sincerely wish that 2017 brings you enough self love and confidence that you no longer feel the need to tear down another person during their darkest moment.' The horrific accident occurred just after Thanksgiving and the baby was rushed to Yale Medical Center for what she described as 'two harrowing days' of emergency care and testing.

To those who offered messages of support and comfort, and shared their own stories, she expressed her gratitude in the post.

'It is so moving to know there are so many of you who are wishing our sweet boy well, and who are rooting us on as a family,' the 31-one-year-old wrote.

'Nobody gets an award at the end of all of it for doing it the best or most perfect way. All that matters is how we make our children feel, how we feel about them, and how we feel about ourselves as parents,' she added.

Eva has two children, baby Major and two-year-old daughter Marlowe, with sports broadcaster husband Kyle Martino.
