Pak halt India’s winning-run in T20 Blind WC

New Delhi [India], Feb.1 : Defending champions India slumped to their first defeat of the ongoing T20 World Cup for the blind as they went down against arch-rival Pakistan by seven wickets in their third match at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium here on Wednesday.

Opting to bat first, opener Prakash J struck a blistering 90-run knock, which included 10 boundaries and a six, besides sharing a 119-run partnership with Venkateswara Rao D (53) for the first wicket to guide India to a total of 204-5.

In reply, Nisar Ali provided Pakistan with a great start by smashing a 30-ball 45 runs before stitching a crucial partnership of 70 runs with Muhammad Zafar (unbeaten at 88) to help Pakistan chased down the target in just 15.3 overs.

Meanwhile, Israr Hasan also remained unbeaten at 21. For India, Deepak Malik and Ketan Patel were the only bowlers to provide their side with some hope by chipping in with a wicket each.

Earlier, the host nation kicked off their campaign on a winning note as they thrashed Bangladesh by 129 runs in the opening match before clinching a 142-run win over West Indies.

India will now lock horns with England in their next match at the Indore Holkar Stadium tomorrow..
