Pakistan summons Indian envoy again over ceasefire violation

Islamabad [Pakistan], Nov. 10 : Pakistan Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Thursday summoned Indian High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale to register Islamabad's protest over alleged continued ceasefire violations along the International Border and the Line of Control by Indian security forces.

Yesterday, Pakistan also summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner J P Singh for the sixth time in over two weeks to protest against the ceasefire violations it claimed Indian troops were committing on the Line of Control (LOC).

Meanwhile, Indian External Affairs Ministry (MEA) also summoned the High Commissioner of Pakistan, Abdul Basit, yesterday to convey its strong concern on continued ceasefire violations along the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC).

The MEA also condemned the manner in which security of the Indian High Commission officials working in Islamabad was being threatened by publishing their photographs in local newspapers.

In the latest ceasefire violation, a soldier was killed in Pakistani firing on Wednesday in the Machhal sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian Army retaliated with fire assault on many Pakistani posts using heavy weapons..
