Pepe confirms Madrid exit this summer

Madrid [Spain], June 6 : Real Madrid defender Pepe has confirmed that he is all set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu club he joined from Porto in 2007.

The 34-year-old revealed that he has offers from numerous clubs from England, including Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, who have been monitoring his situation for some time.

Pepe, who will be out of the contract at the end of this month, was never offered the two-year deal he was hoping for at Madrid and it seemed that this is the reason behind his decision to move on.

"It is clear that I will not continue at Real Madrid. One stage is over and, from now on, another one will start. There are more offers, also from England," goal.com quoted Cope as saying. According to reports, Pepe was on brink of joining Inter Milan before PSG boss Unai Emery hijacked a two-year deal with him.

Pepe, however, insisted that he is yet to agree to a deal with the Paris-based club. Meanwhile, Pepe also took a parting shot at Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane. "I don't want to blame anyone. What Zidane has done with Real Madrid is spectacular, but there are things I don't understand," he said.

"I didn't say goodbye to Zidane because Zidane and Real Madrid knew I was going before I did," Pepe added.

The defender had inspired Madrid to three La Liga titles, three Champions League crowns, two Copa del Reys and two Club World Cups with the Spanish giants.

However, injuries saw him make just 18 appearances for the club in all competitions this season..
