Suresh Raina to miss second ODI, yet to recover from fever

New Delhi [India], Oct. 18 : Indian left handed batsmen Suresh Raina will not play the second ODI series against New Zealand in Delhi's Feroze Shah Kotla stadium as he is yet to recover from viral fever.

"The BCCI Medical team has confirmed that Suresh Raina, who is recovering from a bout of viral fever and had missed the Dharamsala ODI, is ruled out of the second ODI against New Zealand.

The team management has allowed Raina more time to recover. There will be no replacement in the team," the BCCI release stated. The middle order batsmen, who played his last ODI match against South Africa in October last year, was recalled to the 15-man squad for the first three matches of the series against New Zealand.

India outplayed New Zealand in the first ODI of the five-match series at the HPCA Stadium on Sunday. Clinical performances from batting stalwart Virat Kohli and debutant Hardik Pandya with the ball helped India defeat New Zealand by six wicket.
