Sweet firm prepares 29.5 ton laddu, eyes Guinness World Record

Vizag (Visakhapatnam) [India], Sept. 11 : A 29,465 tonnes (2,94,65,000 kilograms) of laddu was offered to a 78-feet long Lord Ganesha idol by the devotees in Visakhapatnam.

The laddu, which weighs almost 30 tonnes, will be served to the devotees. It is prepared by the Bhakta Anjaneya Sweets shop (Suruchi foods) in Tapeswaram of Andhra Pradesh' east Godavari.

"This laddu is prepared by 20 people for 20 days. With the Ganesha mala, they worked 24 hours. This laddu was prepared with all precautions and preservative methods which can be stored for four weeks," Organiser Ramana told ANI.

After estimating the weight of the laddu by the temple authorities, an application is forwarded to the Guinness Book of World Records as they claim it to be the first ever laddu with this heavy weight.
