New Delhi, Aug 23 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the Tiranga Yatra has helped to maintain national unity by thwarting the forces which were working against unity and harmony in the country.
The week long Yatra was organized all over the country as part of celebrations of 70 years of Independence.
Addressing the concluding session of state BJP core groups workshop, Prime Minster Modi said the NDA government is committed to the welfare of the poor.
Giving take away from the Prime Minister's address, senior party leader Ananth Kumar informed that the Prime Minister said the government will soon come out with more welfare sachems for the people.
Earlier, BJP president Amit Shah urged the party leaders to work for public welfare and expansion of the party base.
The day-long meeting is believed to have discussed the strategy for upcoming assembly elections in states including Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
It also deliberated on plans to strengthen party's communication strategy, publicizing the Central government's schemes and construction of modern party offices in the states among other organizational issues.
