Trump hits out at ‘Fake Media’ again, targets Democrats’ dealings with Russia

New Delhi [India], May 7 : United States President Donald Trump on Sunday continued his tirade against the 'fake media' and questioned why it was not asking Democrats about their dealings with Russia.

Trump also questioned the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for their unwillingness to let the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conduct a probe of their servers.

"When will the Fake Media ask about the Dems dealings with Russia (and) why the DNC wouldn't allow the FBI to check their server or investigate?" Trump tweeted.

Trump has often raised questions about the Russian meddling in the U.S. Presidential elections and has dismissed reports that Russia interfered. A report had surfaced earlier in January that DNC had denied the FBI's request to access its hacked computer servers.

Trump had said in February that media reports on Russia's meddling in the 2016 presidential race were "fake news" put by the Democrats and played by the media in order cover their election defeat and the illegal leaks.

Trump had accused the Democrats of fabricating news reports on Russia to explain their election loss and had also lashed out on 'fake media'.

Trump also retweeted a post by Fox News in which he is giving the interview and saying, "I'm not against the media.

I'm against the FAKE media." ".@POTUS: "I'm not against the media. I'm against the FAKE media." #CashinIn," Trump retweeted. The Senate Intelligence Committee is currently investigating Russia's interference in the Presidential elections.

Top U.S. intelligence officials have said Russia tried to hurt Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in a bid boost Trump by hacking the emails of Democratic political organisations.
