Two criminals injured in Delhi encounter

New Delhi, Aug. 21 : At least two miscreants were injured in an encounter that broke out in Rohini Sector-24 area of North Delhi this afternoon.

The police later arrested five people in connection with this case. "The Sultanpuri police had information that today some criminals will come to target a property dealer.

This incident is of Rohini Sector-24. As we got the information, our staff went to Sultanpuri police station; we had information about one car that they will be in a white colour swift car.

We indentified the car and tried to stop it. As soon as they realized that they have been cornered, they started firing on our team," said DCP Vikramjeet Singh.

"They fired from inside the car. One criminal got out of the car and was trying to escape and then our team fired on them. Two of them have been injured," Singh added. Singh said the criminals have also been charged earlier and one of them a life convict was out on payroll.

Two of them are wanted on charges of attempt to murder and two were charged earlier under the MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act).
