`Uncapped` Phehlukwayo named in Proteas ODI squad against Aussies

Johannesburg [South Africa], Sept.6 : Uncapped Andile Phehlukwayo has been named in the 16-man South Africa squad for the upcoming ODI series against Australia, starting from September 30 in Centurion.

Confirming the news, CSA selection committee convener, Linda Zondi, said that Phehlukwayo had been chosen after clinching highest wickets for South Africa `A` in the recently-concluded quadrangular series in Australia and following his strong performances in last season's One-Day Cup.

Zondi further informed that skipper AB de Villiers, who missed the Sunfoil Test Series against New Zealand due to an elbow injury, is on track to be fit for the upcoming series against the Steve Smith-led side, Sport24 reported.

Meanwhile, Dale Steyn and David Miller have also been called in the ODI squad as a replacement for pacer Morne Morkel and batsman Rilee Rossouw, who were not considered for selection due to their respective injuries.

The South Africa squad against Australia is as follows: AB de Villiers, Kyle Abbott, Hashim Amla, Farhaan Behardien, Quinton de Kock, JP Duminy ,Faf du Plessis ,Imran Tahir , David Miller, Chris Morris, Wayne Parnell, Aaron Phangiso, Andile Phehlukwayo , Kagiso Rabada , Tabraiz Shamsi ,Dale Steyn .
