Which egg is Hafiz Saeed laying for Pak, asks PML-N MP

Islamabad [Pakistan], Oct. 7 : Rana Muhammad Afzal, a lawmaker of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has questioned as to why no action has been initiated against Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed.

The Dawn quoted BBC Urdu report as saying that Afzal demanded an action against non-state actors, especially Hafiz Saeed.

During a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs on Thursday, the PML-N lawmaker asked that which eggs was Hafiz Saeed laying for them that they are nurturing him.

"The efficacy of our foreign policy speaks for itself when we couldn't curtail Hafiz Saeed,"he said. "India has built such a case against us about the JuD chief that during the meeting on Kashmir, foreign delegates mention him [Hafiz Saeed] as the bone of contention between Pakistan and India," he added.

The Member of Parliament further said that even though he had hardly ever heard about Hafiz Saeed, the JuD chief was considered a notorious character in international circles.

He questioned whether Hafiz Saeed was good or bad for the Kashmir cause. Asserting that the government's stance on Kashmir is correct, the lawmaker, however, said that the banned outfits are a source of embarrassment for the country.
