BJP, SP needed ‘yatras’ as they did not fulfil even one-third of promises: Mayawati

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Nov 7 : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Monday came down heavily on her opponents and said if both the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) and the Samajwadi Party had fulfilled even one third of their poll promises then there would have no need to carry out processions to prove their work.

Mayawati ridiculed the Vikas Rath Yatra of the Samajwadi Party and the Parivartan Yatra of the Bharatiya Janata Party and dubbed the both endeavours as drama.

"If the BJP or SP would have fulfilled one-third of their poll promises then they would have never needed these yatras to prove their work.

Their work would have spoken," said Mayawati. She further took the opportunity to retort to the statements made by the BJP leadership during the Parivartan Yatra against her party and said that unlike the saffron outfit which works for the wealthy, her party in all the four regimes has worked for the development of the poor and the marginalised.

"I am here to expose the lies said by the BJP leaders during their Parivartan Yatra. I would like to clarify that what all the BJP has said against the BSP is wrong. The BJP said that the BSP did not do any developmental work done under its regime, where as the truth is that the BSP in its all four terms has worked relentlessly worked for the poor and marginalised unlike the BJP ruled government which work for the wealthy," she said.
