Frank Ocean’s ‘Blonde’ may mark the third-largest album of 2016

WashingtonD.C[US], Aug. 27 : While Frank Ocean is already on his way to be first on the Billboard 200 chart with his album 'Blonde', forecasters say the album can also become the third-largest revenue grossing album of 2016.

In the first week of its release, 'Blonde' earned around 275,000 equivalent album units. In terms of opening weeks, the album only stands behind the arrivals of Drake and Beyonce's Lemonade, reports Billboard.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums and streaming equivalent albums.

The top 10 of week of September, Blonde could debut at the top. The list will be revealed on Billboard's websites. The latest album was released on August 20 exclusively for sale through the iTunes Store and to stream via Apple Music.

Ocean's last album, 'Channel Orange', sold 131,000 copies in its first week..
