Looking forward to welcome PM May next week: PM Modi

New Delhi [India], Nov. 3 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said he is looking forward to welcome United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister Theresa May to India next week on her first substantive bilateral visit outside Europe.

Both the leaders exchanged Diwali greetings today in a telephonic conversation and agreed on the scope for further strengthening bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors, including science and technology, finance, trade and investment, and defence and security.

Accompanied by a business delegation, May will be visiting India between November 6 - 8. During her trip to New Delhi, May will hold talks with Modi and review all aspects of the Indo-UK strategic partnership.

A joint Economic and Trade Committee meeting will be held on the sidelines. The UK prime minister, alongside Modi, is also scheduled to inaugurate the India-UK Tech Summit in New Delhi, jointly hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

The two sides had agreed to hold the summit during Modi's visit to the UK in November 2015..
